Trick Rider Goes Barrel Racing Vintage L.L. Bean Boat & Tote · One of One
Hold on to your hat. Or don’t.
A cowgirl on a rearing paint horse, stitched big across the lower front and kicking up like the gate just opened. The horse is worked in white and chestnut with a wild black mane, reins pulled tight, front hooves high in the air. She’s in a red shirt, blue jeans and a yellow neckerchief, sitting a gold-tooled saddle, one hand on the reins and the other waving her hat over her head. It’s the ride everyone in the stands will still be talking about next year.
Above the handle, a red circle crest with a barrel racer at full gallop, making it official: Rodeo Queen, Barrel Racing Champ. Some people enter the competition. Some people retire the title.
Around it, the stuff that collects on a rodeo bag:
- A striped saguaro cactus in rust, gold and red, stitched with Lucky at its base, for the long drive between towns
- A black 8 ball, because sometimes the luck comes down to a shot at the bar
- A cream diamond rider number reading 78, trimmed in red, pinned on for the main event
The details
