Wild Thread Studio was founded on the belief that embroidery can be both timeless and unapologetically modern. From our Charlotte, North Carolina atelier, we create embroidered accessories in small, deliberate editions—each one sketched, stitched, and assembled entirely by hand. Our work honors craftsmanship, individuality, and material integrity, using everything from heritage leathers and upcycled luxury textiles to lustrous threads and solid brass hardware.
Every piece—whether a tassel, monogram, room key, deluxe embroidery, or leather-laced charm—is crafted one at a time with precision and intention. Many designs are double-sided, dimensional, or intricately constructed using specialized techniques unique to our studio. The result is a collection of modern heirlooms: tactile, expressive, and meant to be layered, collected, and carried forward.

Made slowly, by hand
Every piece begins with a hand-drawn idea, a storied material, or a textile that sparks curiosity. Each charm is sketched, embroidered, assembled, and styled entirely by hand, produced either as a singular creation or in very limited editions. Individuality isn’t an option—it’s the foundation.
Materials With Meaning
We work with lustrous threads, vintage and upcycled textiles, full-grain leathers, and solid brass hardware chosen for their weight, permanence, and provenance. From silk scarves and bandanas to denim and tapestry remnants, every material is selected for its history, patina, and soul.

Our collections range from sculptural leather tassels and heirloom embroideries to witty Thought Bubbles, reimagined Room Keys, monograms, and leather-laced charms. Each piece is meticulously crafted, often double-sided and padded or layered, inviting collecting, stacking, and personal storytelling.

Meet the founders
Stephen and Aundrea Wilson are the co-founders of Wild Threads, a studio rooted in craftsmanship, collaboration, and considered design.
Stephen Wilson is a contemporary artist whose practice merges traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Since 2015, his work has combined embroidery, fabric manipulation, assemblage, and digital processes to create intricately detailed pieces—often requiring hundreds of hours to complete. Working with luxury and upcycled materials, his practice explores themes of craftsmanship, sustainability, consumer culture, and the space between art and fashion. With Wild Threads, Stephen translates this artistic language into wearable objects, where art becomes intimate, functional, and collectible.
Aundrea Wilson brings over fifteen years of experience in the embroidery and art industry, with a deep focus on client relations, experiential design, and event planning. Her background in hospitality and her lifelong passion for fashion and accessories play a critical role in shaping the Wild Threads experience. Aundrea is involved in every stage of the process—from concept development and design decisions to client engagement and presentation—ensuring that each piece and interaction reflects the studio’s values. She leads the planning and execution of Wild Threads’ Charm Bars, transforming the collection into an immersive, personal, and community-centered experience.
