This piece starts from a brand-new L.L.Bean Boat and Tote — a clean canvas with no history yet but the one we're about to give it.
Front and center is a grizzly stitched in full needle-painted detail, every layer of fur worked shade over shade, sitting patiently in a Fair Isle sweater knit in cream, rust, deep green, and indigo — the kind of sweater somebody's grandmother made and nobody ever got back. He fills the panel from handle to hem, paws out, looking at you like he's been waiting on the porch a while. Around him we scattered the trail: a SEEK treeline oval, a wayfinding pennant, and a Let's Go Camping tent badge down the left side, with an instant camera, a pair of binoculars, and a Yosemite NP America 250 medallion tucked along the right.
One of One means exactly that: the only piece we made like this. Once it's gone, it won't be made again.
