A whole summer on one bag, and it takes both sides to hold it. One side is the lobster shack. The other is the club.
We started with a brand-new L.L.Bean Boat and Tote in the medium size, natural canvas throughout, so every color on it earns its place.
The front centers a full lobster in rust and gold with a stippled shell and gold-corded outline, flanked by a pink flamingo pool float, a "Stay Salty" speech bubble, a pale blue Yachting pennant, and a navy ship's wheel. Around the left side, an angelfish in gold and turquoise and a caviar badge in cobalt.
The back is the sailing club: a blue felt "Ocean Chic — Coastal Sounds, Diamonds, Anchor" pennant with leather header and tip runs top to bottom, with a big orange and cream scallop shell beside it. Then the small souvenirs — sunglasses, a camper van, seagulls, a sailboat, a camera, a pink starfish, and a palm-lined surf scene.
The charm stack is the finish: a stacked brass clip hung with a long tassel cut from vintage blue-and-white fabrics — gingham, stripe, chevron, and floral — so no two hang the same way.
One of One means exactly that: the only piece we made like this. Once it's gone, it won't be made again.
