A hand mid-snap, stitched big across the front and reaching right over the handle like it just made up its mind and isn’t taking questions. The hand is worked in soft blush, with glossy red nails, a gold cocktail ring and a stack of cream bangles sliding down the wrist. It’s the hand that orders for the table, picks the restaurant and is never once wrong about it.
Up by the handle, a red matchbook with one bold suggestion on the cover: Burn the Dress Code. Some people follow the invitation. Some people rewrite it.
