A sage green cowboy hat, stitched oversized across the front panel and set right over the handle like it was tossed there after a long day. The crown is worked in layered green thread with deep olive shading through every crease. A chocolate brown band wraps the base, holding a rust and copper feather and a couple of playing cards tucked in for luck: one stamped Howdy with a gold star, one marked with a horseshoe. Across the brim, in brown script, it says it plainly: Ain't My First Rodeo. It's the hat that's seen every county fair from here to Fort Worth and still sits just right.
Off to the side, a brown felt pennant with a horse looking over the top reads Hold Your Horses in turquoise. Some people rush in. Some people wait for the gate to open.
