A curling wave, stitched tall down the center of the front panel and set between the handles like it’s breaking right off the bag. The water is worked in layered blues, teals, and seafoam, with cream whitewater spilling over the crest and foaming out along the base. Up top, a surfer in red trunks trims down the face on a rust-red longboard, arm out, knees bent, riding the thing out. It’s the wave everyone talks about at the bonfire and nobody can prove they caught.
Off to the side, a striped sneaker kicks out under a banner reading Salt Cedar Pool Riders. Some people wait for summer. Some people find a drained pool.
