Bad luck. Good sound.
A gold boombox, stitched oversized across the front panel and tipped at an angle, with its carry handle swinging up past the bag’s own handle like it’s mid-swing on the way out the door. The whole thing is worked in shimmering gold metallic thread, with silver through the cassette deck and tuning band and copper shading in the speaker cones and buttons. STEREO across the top, a tape loaded in the deck, both speakers ringed in gold. It’s the one that only comes out once the lights go down.
Above it, a navy rocker reads Night Shift. Some people clock out at five. Some people are just getting started.
